Knowing what you’re comfortable spending before the major design work begins is essential for my design process.
Your budget influences metal choice, as well as the size, quality and type of gemstones that can be offered and the intricacy of the design. Having a clear budget allows me create a design that balances your vision with your spending expectations.
It also encourages clients to consider what they are comfortable spending, which is an important part of creating a positive, confident experience.
Estimate Examples
It’s not possible to provide a definitive price template as each project is unique in both materials and complexity. In some cases, I supply all of the materials, but in most instances, clients provide at least some of the materials in the form of metals or gemstones.
I’ve put together some minimum-spend budget estimates for my most requested types of work. These prices may include the cost of metal and labour, but not the cost of any gemstones to be purchased.
Please bear in mind the fluctuating gold market price. I try to keep this information as current as possible, but these are intended as estimates only.
Engagement Rings
This style typically averages around $4,500 but can vary depending on materials, ranging from $3,000 to $15,000 and above.
Ladies Wedding Rings
The majority of wedding rings requested are straight bands set with gemstones, averaging around $3,500. Prices can vary depending on materials and design complexity, ranging from $1,500 to $6,000 and above.
Multi-stone Rings
This style is often supplemented by the customer’s sentimental stones and averages at $6000. This style can range from $3500-$10000, depending on materials supplied.
Wide Dress Rings or 3 in 1 rings
The increased metal weight required for wider designs brings this style to an average of approximately $8,000. Pricing is highly dependent on materials and design complexity. This style typically starts at $4,000 and increases with material costs. It’s an excellent way to combine your existing wedding set into one substantial and comfortable ring.
Fixed Gemstone Necklace
This concept starts at $2,000 in 9ct yellow gold and typically averages around $2,500. The price increases depending on gemstone selection and size.
